The Abuja pilot

Being wrong at five vehicles is recoverable.
At thirty it is not.

Capital releases in three gated tranches, and a five-vehicle micro-pilot runs first.

Fleet
20 vehicles
Infrastructure
1 integrated hub
Duration
18 months
Indicative capital
~N1.45Bn (~$1.05M)

Hub 1 combines 200 kWp solar, 500 kWh storage, 8 × 22 kW AC and 2 DC fast chargers with a co-located high-voltage workshop and parts store, shared co-working space, a food service kiosk and short-stay rest pods — see Charging Stations for the site concept.

How we operate

Standards. Battery-electric only — hybrids and dual-fuel vehicles sit outside the duty and VAT exemption, so they are outside our fleet. No more than two vehicle models in the pilot fleet. Minimum 85% battery state of health at intake, below which a unit is rejected without exception. Model year 2019 or newer — inside the customs age limit with headroom.

Compliance. Licensed under the EV Transition and Green Mobility Bill regime before any procurement commitment; an Import Duty Exemption Certificate from the Ministry of Finance for every battery-EV shipment; FCT transport permits; NDPA 2023 data protection; a documented battery second-life and disposal route.

Growth discipline. Fleet size never exceeds hub charging capacity ÷ daily consumption × 0.8. Growth is gated by charging and workshop throughput, not by capital — which is exactly what prevents the classic African EV fleet failure.
